Camtile Support

Email support@camtile.com — we reply in English or Arabic.

Before you write to us, open Add device and tap Test connection. It checks four things separately — network, the device's HTTP API, your credentials, and the RTSP stream — and names the one that failed. Including that result in your email usually gets the problem solved in one reply.

Getting started

  1. Put your Mac, iPhone or iPad on the same network as the recorder.
  2. Open Camtile and choose Add device.
  3. Pick your recorder from the scan results, or type its IP address.
  4. Enter the username and password of the recorder itself — not a cloud-service account.
  5. Tap Test connection, then save.

Common problems

"No device responded at that address"

"The device rejected the username or password"

Tiles show "Channel unavailable"

The recorder is reachable but is not serving that channel. Check that the camera is connected and enabled on the recorder, and that the channel has a sub stream configured if you are viewing a dense grid.

Streams keep reconnecting

The picture is encrypted

Some recorders encrypt their RTSP output with a separate verification code. Camtile detects this and shows you where to find the code. Disabling stream encryption affects only the network transport — it does not change how your cameras record.

Viewing from outside

The safest way is a VPN such as WireGuard or Tailscale: reach your own network, then use the same address you use at home. Nothing is exposed to the internet.

Camtile can also ask your recorder to request a port mapping from your router, and then remembers the public address the router gave back. That makes the recorder reachable from the internet on a high random port, so use it only with a strong password. It never happens on its own — the switch is in Device Management, and Camtile reports what your router actually granted rather than what was asked for.

Camtile
